Get Comfy with LAIA

Spots Are Running Out:
AI for Architects β€” Starts September 22nd!

Hey {{first_name | Friend}} πŸ‘‹

Your friendly neighborhood AI man, Adam here, sending this one to you today from my balcony in Cape Town. Table Mountain looms in front of me, the clouds cascading over it like a heavenly tablecloth.Β

After months of winter, spring is pushing through, and although the windswept trees now bow from the constant billowing, they are green and seem to be smiling with the shining sun.

It feels a lot like the journey we’re all on with AI. At first, it’s fog and mayhem. Then comes fascination β€” then some more overwhelm.Β

Eventually, if we stay with it, clarity begins to emerge like the sun does after a long winter.

Nejc, one of the founders of Lighthouse AI Academy, put it best: the adoption cycle is universal.Β

And everyone asks the same two questions:

  1. Where am I in this cycle?

  2. How do I make this useful β€” maybe even profitable?

Today, I want to walk you through both: starting with the stages of AI adoption and then the tiers of monetization that naturally follow.Β

And, because we’re Lighthouse AI Academy, I’ll show you how one of our courses, like AI for Architects, can turn this theory into practice.

πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« From Confusion to Clarity 🀩

Part 1: The Adoption Cycle πŸ‘Ά

❝

β€œAI is not perfect.
And it is not designed to solve ALL our problems. It is a new technology, giving us an opportunity to figure out how best to use it.”

β€” Nejc Susec

We can map it out like this:

  • What the..? β†’ That first jolt of awe. A prompt turns into an image, and your brain can’t quite process it.

  • Black hole β†’ Exploration mode. You stay up late, generating hundreds of ideas, falling deeper into the night.

  • Resurface β†’ You snap out of it, files piled up, energy drained.

  • Normalize β†’ AI doesn’t seem magical anymore. You start to see its flaws and limits.

  • Adoption β†’ The real turning point: β€œOkay, what can this actually do for me today?”

That’s where real creativity begins.

Part 2: The Monetization Tiers πŸ‹οΈ

❝

β€œThere are many ways you can use your AI skills to your advantage. You can create something, you can teach someone, or you can connect the dots and build tech.”

β€” Nejc Susec

Once you hit adoption, the question shifts: how do I use this? We can explain this in a three-tiered approach:

  1. Create something

    • Use AI to design, draft, storyboard, or prototype faster.

    • Deliver client projects or personal work with higher quality and speed.

  1. Teach someone

    • Share what you’ve learned through workshops, masterclasses, or 1:1 coaching.

    • Empower others while deepening your own expertise.

  1. Build tech

    • Connect creative vision with technical frameworks.

    • Build tools, workflows, or apps that scale beyond one project at a time.

Together, the adoption cycle and monetization tiers form a map: know your stage, pick your tier, and move forward.

This is all to say, don’t be a jack of all trades and a master of none; niche down and find an area of AI to really grow into.Β

πŸ—οΈ Case Study: Architects in the CycleΒ

One of the clearest examples of this map is happening right now in architecture.

Many architects are stuck between Normalization and Adoption.Β

They’ve explored the tools, seen flashy demos, but still wonder: how do I actually use this in real projects?

That’s why we created AI for Architects, ensuring that it functions as much more than a mere tutorial, exactly as with our other two flagship courses.

It’s a guided path from:

  • Hand sketch β†’ cinematic render β†’ masterplan

  • Idea β†’ LoRA style model β†’ unique signature look

  • Exploration β†’ professional-grade workflow

In other words: from fog to clarity. It’s the perfect example of moving from stage 4 (Normalize) into stage 5 (Adoption), while stepping into tier 3 (Build tech).

Most people never get past the β€œBlack hole” or the β€œNormalize” stage.Β

They either burn out or dismiss the technology.

But if you keep going, clarity comes. And when it does, you’ll find yourself ahead of the curve: moving far beyond playing with AI, and instead building with it.

That’s the mission of Lighthouse: to help you stay on the path.Β

To answer the big questions, clear the fog, and show what’s possible.

We are where your AI winter ends and summer begins.

🧠 Homework: Name Your Stage

This week, try this exercise:

  1. Identify which stage of adoption you’re in right now. (What the..?, Black hole, Resurface, Normalize, Adoption).

  2. Choose one tier of monetization. (Create, Teach, Build).

  3. Write down one small experiment you’ll do this week. (e.g., create a storyboard faster, run a mini-tutorial for a friend, sketch a workflow idea for your team).

You’ll be surprised how much clarity comes from naming where you are and choosing the next step.

πŸŒ„ Closing Sentiments

As I look back up at Table Mountain, the clouds are already shifting, breaking apart in the wind. Spring is arriving, and with it comes fresh clarity.

The same is true for us: the fog of confusion will lift if you stay with it, if you keep naming your stage and moving one tier at a time.
